  • Adobe patches security leak in Download Manager (2010/2/27)
    adobeAdobe has found a critical vulnerability in its Download Manager. With it an attacker can install malware on the users computer. Luckily the problem already has been solved.

    If you have downloaded the Windows version of the Adobe reader or the Flash Player from the Adobe site before the release of the securitybulletin last Tuesday has been exposed to the vulnerability.

    Adfobe advises users to follow the steps in the securitybulletin to remove the unpatched versions of the above mentioned apps. You can find the bulletin HERE
  • Mozilla releases security updates. (2010/2/22)
    FirefoxMozilla has released updates covering 5 security leaks in older versions of Firefox. But according to Secunia the latest version of Firefox also has a problem.

    Versions 3.5.8 en 3.0.18 are being updated – eventhough Mozilaa has stated it wouldn´t support the Firefox 3.0 versions anymore. In the securitybulletin Mozilla claims it has covered the problems in version 3.6 already.

    Three of the five mentioned leaks are critical. Amongst them one that shows when Firefox is out of memory and stability problems with the Gecko engine.

    Apart from this update there also appears to be a problem in the 3.6 version. Secunia claims the bug can be used to execute code on the users system.
  • Microsoft will offer other browsers (2010/2/20)
    panelStarting next week Microsoft will offer a choice of a couple of webbrowsers to a number of European users. It is considered to be a test for the new selectionpane that Microsoft is going to release.
    The selectionpane is a result of the battle between the European committee and Microsoft.

    Finally Microsoft has come up with an acceptable solution for the committee: a pane that gives the user a number of options like, Firefox, IE or Opera. According to the committee the pane offers enough guarantees to competitors to get a fair chance.

  • New Sysmetrix version available (2010/2/20)
    SysmetrixAs of yesterday Xymantix has released version 3.44 of Sysmetrix.
    This version should have solved all issues with 3Gb RAM limit, multiple CPU cores, Windows 7 64b and whatever more.I have it running and up until now everythings works smooth like a charm.....
