Hello dear John and my friend Cliff,
The idea of the interview was started with our dear friend sed.
Sed asked me to give you an interview and I said OK.
Thank you Skinnalicious!
1) WHAT IS YOUR NICKNAME?
2) WHAT IS YOUR REAL NAME?
3) WHERE DO YOU LIVE?
4) DO YOU WORK? WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT JOB?
Yes, I do, I am a Dentist with many happy clients, my specialty, as it is expected, is Aesthetics J
5) WHEN DID YOU MAKE YOUR FIRST SKIN? WHAT WAS IT?
I was using an early beta version of Windows XP and I decided to do something beautiful with my new Windows. So, I did the wallpaper with the Microsoft logo full screen and perspective, those days Microsoft logo wasn't popular at all, even Microsoft was putting it aside and in a very small in size. I was visiting the skinning sites then, looking for some icons and maybe good wallpaper, one of these sites was WinCustomize. I decided to upload it there, I didn’t even know then what was happening there. The other day I saw a medal next to it, indicating that it was no1 in downloads the day before as it was many days after. Someone informed me then, with links which I have checked out, that more than 65 sites were having my wallpaper in their front page!!! I was very happy about it.
One day, after about 10-15 days I have started receiving congratulations because Microsoft was having “my wallpaper” in their new version of Windows XP as an official wallpaper, but this time as a monochrome blue perspective logo, with no big success as you all know, they didn’t want to tell me “thank you for your idea”, so they didn’t make it with the colors I did it.
The idea of the MS logo perspective in full screen it was mine and it was never made like this before, only after the great success of my wallpaper, came out the Microsoft's wallpaper and hundreds of similar wallpapers…
This was my start, wallpapers and someday I made my first skin “XP Professional” without having Windowblinds or Skinstudio to test it!!! I did it by changing all the graphics of one of the Alexantrie’s skins. The most difficult part then it was the screenshot, without Windowblinds I couldn’t have any screenshot so I composed the screenshot my self! This screenshot I may say it was as difficult as it was to make the skin…
This skin was meant to be the most popular/downloaded skin ever in skinning community, XP Professional II (with more than 700.000 downloads only at WinCustomize). Though, one year ago another one of my skin became the most popular skin ever worldwide, the skin “Vista Plus”.
6) DO YOU HAVE A WEBSITE? WHAT'S THE ADDRESS?
Yes, I do have a web site and I am happy for the fact that every month has better statistics and more visits than the previous month, my site is http://www.adni18.com
7) HOW MANY TYPES OF SKINS HAVE YOU CREATED?
WindowBlinds, Aston, Icon Packager, Rainlendar, Rainmeter, LogonStudio, Theme Manager, Bootskins, Cursor XP, LogonUI, Desktop X, Icon Tweaker, Screensavers, Widgets/Gadgets and Wallpapers.
8) WHAT SOFTWARE DO YOU USE TO CREATE SKINS?
I do almost everything with Photoshop and Bryce.
9) HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU SPEND SKINNING? DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS?
I used to spend a lot of time skinning and it was big fun, still it is fun, I love skinning, but there is no enough challenge or need to go on with skinning… I am not sure what I will do in the future.
For now I am Administrator in Skinbase and I upload my works in my personal site mainly and some of them in skinning community (Wincustomize, DeviantArt, SkinBase, Skinnalicious etc).
As an epilog I like to say that Skinning = Creation and Creation is one of the most important things in life, among health and love.
Best regards to all of you!
